I have had a quotation from PS Financials and had a good look at their single and multi academy set ups. Looks good but a trifle expensive. Would be great to have peoples views on this market leading company. Many thanks.

Hi Mark,
I introduced it at TGS about 18 months ago at the same time as SKA. As with many of these systems, a lot depends on the set-up and that can be quite complex! Having done that, though, it has an excellent reporting suite which is attractive to anyone who has to do any reporting - like bursars!
I suggest you talk to Alison at TGS or Richard at SKA to find out what their longer term opinions are.
Cheers,
David

Hi Mark,
They now have over 1000 users within the Academy world. Corerro are the other big player with Sage coming along on the rails!
As ever, DW is absolutely right in that it is an investment and the set-up etc can be a little testing, BUT to me it provides a solid foundation to build a cost effective and focussed financial management/reporting function. No more paper invoices and budget holders have clear info at their fingerprints that allow them to take responsibility for their budgets in a simple to understand format. As ever, they need to be nurtured through the implementation and training programme, BUT longer term benefits are clear.
The system also has potential to drive out annual accounts, dependant upon the EFA making their minds up what format they require and then working with PS F to deliver the framework, hence potential cost savings across the now 3.5k Academy estate if they can make it happen! Heavy on the "if" though!
PS F have also fostered a link with ASCL as well which I thinkmay offer discounts to members? Worth a look from this perspective, but also does provide a feeling of confidence that they also felt happy to effect a tie up?
Hope this helps....always happy to talk more or come over and have a chat with Sherilee who has become areal whizz on it!
Richard
